Welcome to our child law websiteResidence

A Court application for a Residence Order which says that a child should live with one particular parent should always be considered as a last resort as generally the courts feel that a child needs stability and consistancy.

Indeed, sometimes a compromise may be obtained where one party may have a larger amount of contact rather than full residence.  However, there are some circumstances where making an application for a Residence Order has to be considered.
