There are now a variety of microgeneration schemes available which are schemes where you can generate energy in your house.  on this site we deal solely with solar energy. 

Solar Energy
After that you may wish to consider solar energy. This means that you are using the sun's power to provide energy for your home.

Initially you can consider passive solar power. This involves designing your home to make the most of the sun. One example is to install an extra south facing window or skylight.

After that you should consider active solar power which is where you install panels normally on the roof of your property to collect energy from the sun. There are two different sorts of panel systems, the first are Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panels and the second are Solar Water heating panels.
